Goodbye UOPX

My terrible weekly schedule (posted earlier) is now over for good. After a week of training I quit the University of Phoenix. Life is still ridiculously busy, and I just could not handle that job. The pay was terrible and the work was monotonous and ever haunting. I thought I could do the job in half the prescribed time, but my doubts grew as I took thier online training course. I had to spend about two hours each morning and evening, plus an few extra hours someplace to do assignments. It would be the same pace when I started teaching, so I just cut the cord now. The downside is that this summer will be lean, but with our tax refund and cashing out my life insurance policy I hope we can make it.

On the upside, today I received a letter from the Journal of Mormon history stating they recommended publishing my manuscript after MAJOR revisions. The revisions part is tough, but it is a step in the right direction. If I can get this thing published, and then maybe one other article, I'll be plenty competitive on the job market next year. I'm working on submitting another article elsewhere, so I'll keep you informed.

And finally, on the mundane, my glasses broke (again) so I'll be getting yet another pair. One of these days I want to get Lasik surgery.
