Fun Adventures

This week's adventures included the usual--swimming and gymnastics, but also a fun Memorial Day barbecue, two new fish, a quick trip to LA and the Standing Bear Pow-Wow in Bakersfield.
Monday we were invited to our friends--the Petersen's for a Memorial Day feast.
We had great food and wonderful company.
Abby loved getting back to gymnastics and swimming since we missed last week.
Abby loves to use the rings.
On Thursday morning a friend from our Ward, Kate came over to play while her parents attended 8th grade graduation. She and Abby had so much fun and pretty much looked like sisters.
We went to a pet store and looked around and ended up picking up two more koi that already know how to eat the fish food we have. Our other fish will not eat yet and so we thought it would help. It had not helped until last night when I went out to feed them and some of them actually ate! We hope it will continue as we do not want our fishies to starve. Here are our two new fish: Herbie (the Cornhusker--bottom) and Nemo (top).
Thursday I had an appointment in LA, so Abby came along and we met Grandma and Grandpa at the temple. I wanted to do a session, but I did not make it in time. So I went with them to Santa Monica Pier for a quick visit to the beach. Grandma and Grandpa bought Abby some ice cream and we posed on the rather windy beach.
Then they dropped me off and had a lot of fun on the temple grounds and the visitor center.
Abby enjoyed playing on the computers.
Abby loves to explore and will do it all on her own!
Saturday we went to the Standing Bear Pow-Wow on Bakersfield College campus. Matt helped set up for it Friday morning and then we went Saturday evening. We walked around, got some fry bread, and watched the dancers. Abby was so fascinated with the dancing. She just stood there and watched. Standing in one place for more than a second is not something she does all that often.

What a fun week!
