An Unforgettable Day

I last posted about some of Abby's struggles adjusting to a new little sister and sharing Mommy and Daddy's attention (she is wonderful to Lily). I thought it might help if she had a fun day with just Mom and Abby. So on August 31st, Abby, Lily and I got up in the wee hours of the morning to drive down to Grandma's and Grandpa's. Then we got ready, left Lily in the wonderful care of Grandma Barbara and Great Granny Ruth and went to Disneyland! What an amazing day!
Lily all cuddled up to Grandma Barbara.
Abby loves to point out things that match and so we wore out matching Tinkerbell shirts. Below is a picture taken as we were headed out the door.
Our Disneyland adventures:
Minnie's Dishwasher
On the Casey Junior Train
The carousel
It's a Small World--she's been singing the song ever since we left!
The Toy Story ride in California Adventure
The new Little Mermaid ride
More characters
Waiting for the Aladdin show. A nice California Adventure employee gave Abby a button!
Abby finally fell asleep for about 30 minutes right before the parade.
Abby likes Captain Hook
We like the new movie "Tangled"
Abby and Mommy making faces
Abby ended up getting a Pluto and she loves him to pieces. When we arrived at Grandma's she tried to give him a bath!
The castle as we left. . . .
Back to Grandma's house--Lily and Great Granny Ruth
Lily and Grandma Barbara
Lily and Auntie Heather
Hooray for cousin Dexter!
Grandma and Grandpa have been working on their backyard and it is looking so good! We cannot wait until it is all done and we can play and swim in the backyard.
What a wonderful day! Disneyland and family--what could be better? We were exhausted when we finally made it home after 11 p.m., but it was worth it.
We will definitely do it again!!!
